Byrne and Partners’ Alastair Shaw spoke on “Civil Fraud in the English Courts” during the inaugural English Law Week in Moscow. The event was co-sponsored by Byrne and Partners LLP and was hosted by the British Embassy in Moscow, the Bar Council of England and Wales, the Law Society of England and Wales, the British Russian Law Association and the Anglo Russian Law Association.
This high profile event, held in conjunction with the Lord Mayor of the City of London’s official visit to Moscow, was attended by the UK Ambassador to Russia, the Lord Mayor of the City of London, and the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation. It comprised two days of seminars focusing on transactional, regulatory and dispute resolution matters. It was the largest event to promote English legal services in Russia to date and attracted over 260 delegates
