Expertise

Andrew is a white collar crime and business fraud specialist who defends cases brought by the Serious Fraud Office, HM Revenue and Customs, and the Financial Services Authority. He has particular expertise in restraint and confiscation matters. The Legal 500 has recognised Andrew as being “highly regarded” in his practice area.

Notable experience

• Acting against HMRC in relation to the first (and subsequent) diversion fraud appeals leading to the removal of Customs’ independent prosecuting authority
• Successfully defending against money laundering charges in the amount of £110 million in respect of a bureau de change
• Appealing findings of criminal contempt of court in civil courts
• Appealing and setting aside a confiscation order made against a solicitor following conviction
